Rather than find myself fall behind with another review, I am going to discuss a lesser-known upcoming foreign film with a lot of potential.
Coming to U.S. shores in select film markets on May 11th from the Phillipines, The Road isn’t some turnstile psychological-horror film. It’s worth noting that this is only the third Fillipino film to receive an international release (Genghis Kahn, 1953 and Small Voices, 2002 are the others). Director Yam Laranas (The Echo) has clearly supplanted himself in the supernatural-ghost story world of cinema. There are several bits of news and reviews about the film on noteworthy horror film blogs.
The North American English-subtitled release will span fifty markets. Check your local theaters for possible theatrical runs and showtimes.
UPDATE (12/10): The Road is out now on Blu-ray, DVD and Amazon Instant Watch.
